Stone Soup Preschool and Child Care

Fostering your child's curiosity about the world around them.

Welcome to Stone Soup!

Stone Soup is a high quality, licensed (#426209626), home-based child care located near Fairview Ave. in Goleta. We serve infants (starting at 9 months of age), toddlers and preschoolers.

Our Philosophy:

We understand the importance of early childhood development and remain committed to providing a high quality program which is positive, enriching, and nurturing. At Stone Soup we take a "well-rounded" approach. We offer an environment which stimulates growth in the cognitive, physical, language, social, creative, and emotional areas of development. We believe it is important to foster each child's natural curiosity and love for learning by offering a fun, loving, and supportive environment in which to learn and grow!

We respect each child as an individual and adapt our teaching to meet their varied ways of learning. We want every child to feel important and successful. We also want each child’s culture to be validated as part of the Stone Soup community and do so by celebrating, as well as learning about, other’s cultures.

Because consistency, routine, and stability are so important for children, we ask for at least a one year commitment at Stone Soup. The children build amazing bonds with their peers/teachers and we become much like an extended family. Here are some things to consider before making a decision . . .

* Does our program philosophy regarding children align with yours?

* Does our location work for you?

* Do our schedule options/times fit your needs?

If you’re on a waiting list for another school, or your plans are to move on within a year, we would probably not be a good match. Please give all of this careful consideration when making a decision regarding enrollment at Stone Soup. Thanks! We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

We look forward to hearing from you!

After nearly 20 years of running Stone Soup we have decided to close our doors. :(

We've loved caring for and enriching the lives of the kiddos from our community who have stepped through our doors.
